BRIC countries: Brasil, Russia, India and China are taking the lead in the Global Steel Industry.
In the Top Ten Steel Producer Countries List , China is number 1, Russia number 4, India number 5 and Brasil number 9. If we add the total steel production in BRIC countries in 2010 we arrive into an amount of 794 mmt, which corresponds to the 69% of the total production of the Top Ten Steel Producer Countries.
In the above mentioned list, from the EU27, the only country listed is Germany with 44 mmt, well below the 627 mmt of China, 67 mmt of Russia and 66 mmt of India.
When we look into the Top List of Steel Producers in 2010, we found the lead of Arcelor Mittal with 98 mmt production, followed by 4 Asian companies: Baosteel (China), Posco (South Corea), Nippon Steel (Japan) and JFE (Japan).
More and More, Steel Production is located in Asia, with an absolute lead by China. China economy is the main driver of the global steel market.
