WORLD STEEL PRODUCTION FEBRUARY 2012

World Steel Production in February 2012 was 119 MMt, an increase of 1,9% YoY. China was the main producing country with 55,9 MMt which corresponds to 47% of the total amount.

Steel production in Spain was 1,2 MMt , one third of German production for the same period: 3,6 MMt. Spanish steel production in February was 14,3% lower than on February 2011, showing the economic downtourn that is affecting the country.
