LAST WEEKS EUROPEAN STEEL PRICE INCREASE NOT SUBSTAINABLE

Once more, at the end of the year, the steel industry is announcing price increases of 20 to 40 Euro per ton.

There is not any real sign in the market that could support steel price increases and our forecast is that prices will turn down shorthly making the attemp not substainable.

The situation will continue untill the steel production capacity worlwide is downsized to adjust capacity to demand.

Raw materials and energy prices are not at the level that would correspond according to real consumer demand of steel products. Oil, Gas, Coal , Iron and anon ferrous metals prices have to go down.
